Cardiff is the capital of the principality of Wales. It dates back some 2,000 years when it was founded by the Romans. It is dominated by the city centre castle, a wonderful mixture of Roman, Norman and Victorian buildings.

Nearby the spectacular civic buildings and national museum of Cathay’s Park have  caused Cardiff to be dubbed the "Washington" of Europe, with magnificent structures built in the Portland stone of the region. The Civic Centre is also complemented by beautiful gardens with parkland to match.

Cardiff is a cosmopolitan and vibrant city, being a major sea port, home of Welsh rugby at the Millennium Stadium, and within the development of Cardiff Bay, have been sited the Welsh National Opera, and the Chambers of the Welsh Assembly Government, who are a devolved assembly charged with the administration of Wales. 

The Cardiff Bay area in total has over eight miles of water-front, which have been re-developed into a wonderful place to visit with activities ranging from sailing to the science discovery centre 'Techniquest'.

Cardiff is a wonderful city to browse around, with seven Victorian and Edwardian arcades as well as four excellent shopping malls. Restaurants offer a wide variety of cuisine, from traditional welsh dishes to authentic italian cuisine. 

Cardiff has many attractions; excellent restaurants and cafe's with an abundance of good food and a wide variety of interesting shops. Additionally there is plenty of entertainment and a vibrant nightlife all to be found around this graceful city.
